Almost Alice
Last week was photo shoot time! We used our lovely vintage clothing here at Ra Ra for a 'vintage inspired' little shoot. Proudly supporting an overflowing wardrobe full of items from the past, with op shopping trips becoming weekly occurrences there was plenty of eras and quirky items to choose from for this little shoot. So the theme was an eclectic trip down the rabbit hole.
Go into any Op shop, once you get over the initial overwhelming feeling brought on by the racks, rails and boxes filled with mix matched items, do another look around. One of my favourite sections is the shelves, usually situated in an odd corner, stacked full of retro tea cups, plates and cutlery matched in with elegant glassware. These often random and seemingly out of place homewares were the initial inspiration for the "down the rabbit hole" theme of this shoot.
Think teacups, pots and saucers and I automatically picture the mad scene of the kooky tea party in the cartoon (and arguably best) 50’s version of Alice and Wonderland. Taking advantage of the beautiful US vintage pieces and hats here at RaRa I went on to style my version of Wonderland. With the perfect Mary Hecker modelling and fabulous Jenna producing a Victorian air to the hair and make up this shoot went beyond my expectations. I hope you all enjoy and become inspired by this quirky shoot as you continue vintage collecting and tea drinking. Let’s really be honest though, we are all mad here…
My Hatter...
And my Alice...
Lots of love from the RaRa team xxx
