Cheeky NYE Cocktail Treats

Now that the Christmas gifts have all been unwrapped, and the last of the festive delicacies have been polished off, it's time to get ready to party! I've got some inspiration for some cheeky alcohol spiked creations that are a perfect pre - event prepper, or a playful addition to your own NYE 2013 bash that will get even the most un-fun member of your group feeling fantabulous.


Strawberry Peach Vodka Collins Popsicles

10 pureed strawberries
60ml peach syrup (recipe follows)
375ml tonic water
150ml vodka (divided use)

Stir strawberry puree with 60ml of vodka. Place three teaspoons of strawberry mixture in the bottom of popsicle form; set aside. Combine peach syrup with tonic water; add vodka. Pour peach and vodka mixture over strawberry  mixture and stir to combine. Freeze for 2 hours, then insert popsicle stick. Freeze overnight.

Peach Syrup

½ cup sliced peaches (about 4 medium size peaches)
1 cup water
1 cups sugar



White Sangria Popsicles

1 bottle dry white wine
½ cup simple syrup (sugar and water mix)
½ cup orange liqueur
2 lemons
2 cups chopped fruit (recommended: strawberries, green apples, peaches and blackberries)

Combine wine, syrup, and orange liqueur. Juice 1 lemon into mixture. Slice other lemon thinly and halve the slices. Add in remaining fruit. Pour into100ml paper cups and freeze for 2 hours. Insert popsicle sticks and freeze until solid. Yields 24.



Sunrise Fruit Wedge Jelly Shots

1 orange (for serving)
45ml grenadine syrup
60ml orange juice
1 package gelatine
60ml water
1 tablespoon sugar
90ml vodka

Cut orange in half; scoop out the pulp. Rinse out halves and dab dry. Place in a muffin tin. Put grenadine syrup and juice in small saucepan. Sprinkle half a packet of gelatin over top and let bloom for about a minute. Stir over low heat until gelatin has dissolved, about six minutes. Divide between orange halves and chill. Combine water and sugar in saucepan. Sprinkle remaining gelatin over top and allow to bloom for a minute. Stir over low heat until gelatin has dissolved. Take off heat and add vodka. Pour over grenadine layer, filling each orange half to the top. Chill overnight.
