Emergency Dance Party!

When Kathy told me the theme for the Ra Ra Superstar 12/13 Summer Collection is going to be 'Troppo' American beach party with a 60's feel, i was instantly taken back to my childhood and all of the incredible films i watched.(Repeatedly)

The 60's, wow what a decade! From human rights, fashion, the sexual revolution, the uninhibited art and creative exploration and the music, the music in the 60's is where it started to get real. The decade that marked the beginning of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Supremes, Ray Charles, the most experimental, tripped out psychedelic jazz and an array of quirky characters like Buddy Holly and Mae West!

The films that were made in the 1960's are in a class entirely of their own. The glamour and enigma that the 60's film sirens possessed. The fact that gentlemen wore 3 piece suits, a hat and a wristwatch to just "grab the paper"... And nearly always acted like gentlemen. Oh, and the fact that any time, was a good time to break into song and dance! I think its for this reason I feel really drawn to the 60's.

The inspiring 60's...

From sweet girly pop to psychedelic surf tunes, hopefully you'll all end up on the dance floor with your moves like Jagger!
