Ra Ra How To : Catsuits with Planet Hostile
As I am sure you can all imagine, it is incredible hard working here at Ra Ra Superstar. Every day I am faced with the overwhelming struggle to not spend all my money as I earn it, aha.
So this post is my chance to dress up, show you all my favourite new vintage and Ra Ra items and hopefully you'll come and buy them before I cave in and do it. This week in particular has been a struggle; we just got a whole heap of new vintage in from a fabulous 90's music producer and I want... basically all of it.
My absolute favourite piece from the haul? This fabulous catsuit!
If you've never actually worn a catsuit (this was my first time - wetsuits don't count!) then you might not understand what a sexy, badass, Charlie's Angels style assassin it makes you feel like. It's awesome. Like, everyone should have one of these, even if it's just to wear around the house on days that you aren't feeling your best.
HOW TO WEAR A CATSUIT (Or how I'd wear it at least, you do your thang girl)
1. Your daytime catsuit will certainly be easy to pull off with a little bit of 'tude & a pair of cool cat eye sunnies!! Just throw on a bold bright trench coat, a pair of statement loafers (like these rad Bally ones) & a bold neckpiece. It's so Audrey Hepburn 'Breakfast at Tiffanies' but nobody will expect a full catsuit underneath.
2. If you're feeling confident and fabulous, don't cover up. Wear that bad boy with your favourite pair of heals or platform boots & nothing but some statement earrings. Don't be afraid to wear a splash of colour in your shoes or handbag. But if you're not so daring, add your fave fitted dress over it pinafore style. We've chosen this cool shift with a massive side split. Meow.
For further inspo, here are some of our fave celeb's rocking the catsuit:
Beyonce works it with a simple stiletto heeled boot, showing off that bootey !
Nikki Minaj has a menagerie of catsuits and is not afraid to wear them. Why not match your hair to your catsuit ?
Michelle Pfeiffer as catwoman was just purrfect !
These vintage cat lady's were the classic originals.
Cara does sporty catsuit style, while Rihanna's look is all sexy and sleek in maroon with snakeskin accents.
These vintage supermodels were not afraid to rock the catsuit. We can certainly take a cue from their books.
Groove is in the catsuit. Delite is looking deeliteful in this onesie!
Fashion fabulous in leopard print with those killer heels.
80s Talisa Soto models a catsuit with cutouts, while the original 60s Veruschka rocks an animal number.
But Anne Hathaway has got to be one of the most stylin' cat lady's to date.
