Oh Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

On arrival at the Golly Gosh Prom a corsage of a faux purple rose, pink netting and a lashing of silver curling ribbon was tied around my lace-glove clad wrist.  Ohh man I wish I grew up the in 80s!

Next thing I knew I was chatting with Rachel herself, yes the woman who has made a dress a day for a year under the guise i make my day and is now designing her own range for Princess Polly. I’m sure she never imagined how quickly she would be thrown into the world of fashion and to such success. Here she is, far right, dancing up a storm!

Then I found my mates who were tucked up in one corner, lounging on Laruche’s luxe velvet chairs, sipping on cocktails and munching on cake-pops. Yes, they are as delicious as they look: mud-cake smothered in chocolate and decorated with colourful hundreds and thousands.

There was, of course, some fantastic 80s fashion on show! Lots of taffeta, big hair and bow ties.....

Like every 80s prom (at least in the movies anyway) there has to be a Prom King and Queen.  Not only were they supportive friends of Rachel's, Prom King wore pom pom embellished shoes and Prom Queen had expertly crimped locks and the hugest grin - what a delightful pair!

A night full of 80s frocks, delicious (and plentiful) nibbles, enough catchy old tunes to dance up a storm and one too many cake pops...... but with all of the proceeds going to charity I didn't feel the least bit guilty!
